Description

This course will take you through understanding rhymes in a new light, where you will learn about how rhymes benefit every single domain of development in your students.   Rhymes are like rocket fuel for a child' development, in the critical growing years. They develop language and communication, creative expression, numeracy skills, physical development and emotional development. You will also learn different techniques to conduct rhymes, like using puppets, using Point and Recite, and Character Voices.  You will discover new times and spaces in the classroom where you can use rhymes to achieve different goals. You will learn about Transition activities, which are a bridge for managing classrooms with very young learners, who need patience and support to take them through a pre-school day.   Quizzes in each section ensure you are recapping the knowledge at every step. You can also download a list rhymes categorised by subject. You can use these rhymes at any time of the day or in a specific period of the time table to boost your student's understanding of Maths, Science, and also for their socio-emotional development. The assignments at the end of the course allow you to reflect on what you have learnt and give you the confidence of using your gained knowledge with your students in the classroom.
