    Description

Greetings! My name is Crystal Simmons, creator of the From Hurdle to Homeschool online personal development course.  Here we are offering parents & guardians "A Segue Into Preparing Themselves for a Homeschooling Lifestyle".  The overall purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive "how-to" program that walks you through managing stress, engaging in social and emotional learning strategies, teaching academically and behaviorally, schedule building, and more, all of which encourages a successful homeschooling experience. There was a sudden shift or force where parents, grandparents, and other guardians were pushed into homeschooling or distance learning whether we were ready for it or not. Parents have been overwhelmed, stressed out, and at their “wit's end” as their children rely on only them, just one, possibly two unprepared parents to fulfill the roles the "village” ( educators, music teachers, art teachers, PE educators, dance instructors, librarians, etc.) would have fulfilled! But there’s no one out there saying, "Hey here’s what you need to do FIRST", “Here is a blueprint”, or “This is HOW you prepare for this lifestyle and make it a success” …UNTIL NOW!!! After taking this course, the goal is for you to have acquired the skills, know-how, and resources necessary for resolving homeschooling challenges, and confidently become thriving parent-educators sooner by:Implementing the foundations of knowledge and mental preparation.Studying social & emotional-based learning.Exercising scheduling management for activities and assignments.Engaging in stress management strategies.Learning academic & behavioral teaching techniques.Understanding facts per state to pilot actionable next steps in your homeschool.Receiving reinforcement of skills learned through helpful quizzes that test student understanding.Utilizing the resources and methods studied to improve problem areas in the homeschool educating and learning processes.Engaging in critical thinking.Demonstrating the ability to use the aptitudes & strategies provided within this course.Referencing downloadable reading material, outlines, etc., that serve as convenient “on-hand” study guides of lessons.Using additional material to assist in assignment tracking and record keeping. There are a total of 11 sections with easy-to-follow video lessons, quizzes, and downloadable materials including fun educational resources, source references, and an organizational tool to keep your attendance and class assignment logs in order.Course Layout: Introduction Getting Started: Preparing Yourself for a Homeschooling LifestyleSocial and Emotional Learning: Establishing Your Own At-Home Culture of ListeningTeaching Your Children in Academics and BehaviorScheduling: Building Your Homeschool TimetableCoping Strategies for the Adult and ChildState Facts and States Outlined (15 states: Generic Drafted Letter of Intent to Homeschool/Withdraw from SchoolVirtual Resources (Online Learning)Extended Resources (Source information)Organizational Tool: Assignment and Attendance Log with Tutorial VideoHere, we are offering a solution, a way to equip yourself with knowledge and understanding on how to homeschool your little one(s) successfully without burning yourself out!
