This course provides an basic understanding of information systems and their use in achieving strategic advantage in business practice. The course reviews the many types of information systems supporting business processes and a study of how technology, especially information technology, can be used as an essential component of linking technology policy with corporate strategy and identifying technology options that will ensure the most effective execution of organizational strategy.ISM is the study of people, technology, organizations, and the relationships among them. ISM professionals help firms realize maximum benefit from investment in personnel, equipment, and business processes. ISM is a people-oriented field with an emphasis on service through technology.
