Requirements

There are no prerequisites for this entry-level futures and options course. This type of course is designed to introduce students to the basics of futures and options trading. It is suitable for beginners who have no prior knowledge or experience in the area, however a basic understanding of maths is advantageous.

Description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the world of futures and options. Students will learn about the different types of instruments available in the market, the associated risks and rewards, and the strategies used to maximize gains. You will also gain an understanding of the underlying drivers that influence the prices of futures and options. With the knowledge and skills gained from this course, students will be well prepared to excel in their role or impress in that interview!· Understand the fundamentals of futures markets, including their structure, participants, and products.· Develop an understanding of the pricing dynamics of futures, including the impact of supply and demand.· Understand the role of margin and leverage in futures trading.· Develop a comprehensive understanding of the different types of options and how they are used in the financial markets.· Understand the main strategies used in options trading and the risks associated with them.· Analyze how option pricing works and the factors that influence its value.I’ve worked in finance for a number of years, spending the majority of my time involved in derivatives and trading. Working initially for a global investment bank, and more recently a buy side investment fund, I have an in depth knowledge of these products, often running education sessions. I’d know like to pass on that knowledge to you, in a concise and easy to understand format.This course is made so that you can have functional knowledge, so if you think I've missed something, please contact me and I'll do my best to include it in the course!
