    Indian Financial System - Merchant BankingIndian Financial System is a vast subject that covers Cooperative Credit and Organizations, Non-Banking Finance Companies, Merchant Banking, Money Markets, and Capital Markets.In this session, an Introduction to Indian Financial System is provided where we discuss and elaborate on topics that are Public Debt, Operating Procedures of Monetary Policy, Qualitative Methods of Credit Control, Quantitative Methods of Credit Control, Merchant Banking, and Lead Managers.In subsequent sessions, we tend to discuss NBFC, Money Markets, and Capital Markets.In Public Debt, we go through the classification of Public Debt, namely, Debt Ownership, Maturity Pattern, Secondary Debt Market, Repo, and Reverse Repo.In Operating Procedures of Monetary Policy, we discuss the Basics of Operating Policy, Liquidity and Adjustment Facility, Monetary Policy Corridor, Operating Target, Monetary Transmissions, and Channels.In Qualitative and Quantitative Methods of Credit Control, we discuss, Effectiveness of Monetary Control, and the different types of Credit Controls.In Merchant Banking, we deal with questions such as, how complex becomes Issue Management Activities and discuss Financial Services as seen from a Merchant Banker’s perspective.We also discuss Merchant Banking in India, Merchant Banking Regulations, Registration, and Prospectus filing, Functions of Merchant Bankers, and their code of conduct.In Lead Managers, we discuss, Syndicate, and questions such as who acts in the capacity of Lead Managers? Also, SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) guidelines are elaborated, responsibilities of Lead Managers along with Business Restrictions on Lead Managers are discussed.
