IP Addressing and Subnetting: IPv4 and IPv6
What you'll learn
Will be able to undestand the different types of addresses used in the Networking such as IP address, MAC address and Port Address
IPv4 Classes and range of each type
Identifying given IP is Valid, Invalid, Reserved, Broadcast or Multicast
Designing the network based on the subnets required or number of hosts per subnet
Requirements
Need to download and install Cisco Packet Tracer
No programming and computer hardware experience is required
Description
Networking is used for interconnecting devices to exchange the information. In the networking all the devices communicate with addresses. These addresses are IP address, MAC address and Port address. The destination network will be identified with IP address, Once it is reached destination then it has to contact particular system in that specific network, that can be done with the help of MAC address, Now once the information is reached the system(server) then it has to contact particular service which is running with the help of port address. During this process different devices are interconnected and they use different address types for communication. You will be able to understand the IPv4 Addressing and Subnetting. Assigning a IPv4 address to the systems and testing the communication. Classless Inter Domain Routing(CIDR), IPv6 addressing, Number Systems(Binary, Octal, Decimal, Hexadecimal), Automatic Private IP address(APIPA), Loopback IP, Multicast Address, Broadcast Address and Anycast address in IPv6, MAC address, Port Address. Protocol Data Unit(PDU)-Frame, Packet, Segment.Practical Implementation of these concepts with the help of Cisco Packet TracerHow to connect PC to SwitchesAssigning IP to the PCs and verifying the connectivity.Create a scenario in the packet tracer to test the routingafter calculating subnets you can assign the IP address with custom subnet mask to PCs and verify.Configure the Switch for Remote access using telnetAssign the console password and telnet passwordsAccessing switch through console cableConfigure STPConfiguring VLANStatic Routing and Dynamic Routing with RIPOSI Model and TCP/IP Protocol SuiteDHCP Relay Agent
