    Description

Class 1 Belly Dance Hipwork - Tight, Sharp Accents - Technique and PracticeImprove your control of articulation and range of motion when performing tight, small hipwork accents. Neon discusses using your abdominal muscles, glutes and psoas to control your hip/knee work and achieve crips, sharp accents for Oriental Dance. The class includes a 15-minutes "Loose Hips" hip stretch bellydance movement flow, designed to increase fluidity and range of motion in your hipwork, and step-by-step breakdown of 4 combinations followed by practice with music."Today we’ll work on small tight accents - hipwork and chest accents - that require precision muscular control. Sometimes we dance to songs that have a folksy, unstructured vibe to them or music that has a lot of drama, and our movements and accents tend to be larger than life - using large range of motion, a lot of full-body moves or loose, more like social-dance look, like in shaabi dancing. However, if your music follows classical Egyptian tradition or has quiet intensity to it, it’s great to amass precise delicate accents and alternate them with graceful poses and walks, so that you have that very elegant stage-quality dance that we associate with the best Oriental Dance performances. "Class 2"Today, we'll do a few hipwork drills. Just for fun, we'll practice steps inspired by Latin dance moves. I put them into small drills, starting from half time and then speeding up."
