    In this course, we delve into Speech and Oral Motor Control, focusing on key aspects of language development and communication skills. We explore the five stages of speech development, from word acquisition to refining social aspects of speech. We also examine Oral Motor Control and Respiratory Control, crucial for clear and effective speech production. Additionally, we address the motor difficulties often observed in autistic children, covering gross and fine motor skills, motor planning (PRAXIS), and sensory integration. Our discussion extends to Social Communication Skills Development, including non-verbal communication, social initiation and response, theory of mind deficits, social reciprocity, and sensory sensitivities.
