Microbiology affects every aspect of our lives from food, to medicines, to plant health and diseases. There are a number of microorganisms that make up the microbiome and in this course you will be introduced to the main organisms and some diseases associated with them. You will explore the history of microbiology and will learn about bacteria, viruses, fungi and some other core basic topics to introduce you to the field of microbiology.Throughout history there have been many examples where microbiology has emerged and developed and has led to the development into the present day branch of science that exists today.
