Bad habits are a very common phrase that has been heard especially often lately. Now together they have become one of the most relevant and wide-ranging or rather, global, contemporary problems. The fight against them is by no means useless if it is carried out correctly and the right means are used to achieve this goal.

What exactly is a habit? A protest, a way to distract from an exciting problem, a manifestation of character or just an unmotivated need? Before giving an exact answer, it is worth understanding in more detail about many things related to this problem. And it’s better to start by identifying all kinds of habits and finding out their origin (after all, they do not accompany us from the moment of birth), as well as realizing what effect they have on the person who has become their victim, and on relatives, friends, and acquaintances around him.
What habits are there and how to distinguish them from manifestations of character? They can be divided into two groups. The first includes the most harmful habits that eventually turn into a disease: addiction to alcohol, smoking, drugs, and gambling.
The second includes less dangerous and at first glance absolutely insignificant, but to some extent disfiguring a person: nail-biting, hair-pulling (in rare cases it turns into a disease), biting lips, tapping fingers on a table or foot on a chair leg, etc.
More recently, the “status” of Internet addiction has been established: this is a disease belonging to the first group. But not everyone knows about it yet, and many doubt it.
