Useful and very pleasant set which teaches Colloquial Egyptian for use by tourists or businesspersons. Set out clearly, with vocabulary lists and exercises to complete. The workbook, containing all the dialogues, word lists and handy tips, has all the words in latin character transliteration, nothinig in Arabic script. Which is good for its purpose to educate the casual traveller, not the dedicated student of the language. One can listen in the car or while exercising etc.., and go to the workbook later to revise.
It was in 2 cassettes, which have been ripped to 192 kbs mp3 and are labelled 1a, 1b etc. Quality is quite clear and easy to follow. Recordings are of English and Arab native speakers, all very friendly and with perfect diction. Interspersed are real-life dialogues in documentary style, to exercise the ear (they are repeated more slowly by the course speakers later on!).
