6 Steps to a Successful Agile Implementation: Build a tailor-made plan to help you successfully implement agile ways of working by David Lowe
    English | October 14, 2023 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0CGXSLBZM | 195 pages | EPUB | 4.04 Mb

Many business leaders want their teams to work better, to be more efficient and effective. Everyone is talking about successful Agile implementations, where they have overcome inefficiencies and grown their customer satisfaction.

Yet, when you come to implement it yourself, do you get confused and frustrated? Is implementing the theory to your specific circumstances tough? Do you feel stuck?

If so, you’re not alone, many people feel the same.

It’s for this reason David Lowe created his 6-steps for successful agile implementation.

By following these six steps, you will be closer to achieving the results you hope for:
    • a clear plan for your organisation’s success
    • measurable outcomes
    • collaborative teams
    • a more efficient and effective organisation
    • increased delivery and value
It's time to become the person who achieves a successful agile implementation.

What readers have said about this book…

"When I started reading your new book, I felt like the Universe was plotting to help me exactly with what I am working on right now. Let me explain: because the teams in our department no longer speak the same language in terms of framework and delivery, it is very hard for management to know what is going on, so they have asked me to build an Agile practises model containing must have standards, but also nice to have’s.

While I understand the idea and the outcome they want to put in place, I feel we are skipping some very important steps: deciding what our organisation’s purpose is, garnering an alignment on how success looks like, levelling the understanding of the frameworks we work with (Scrum, Kanban), understanding of what Agile actually means, and finally bridging these gaps so that we actually know what should be standard and where we need to go from there and improve our common language and the organisation continuously. Must have’s on their own, meaning being built without the needed foundation, will fade away quickly, unless I become a 'standards policeman'.

Why do I mention all this? As an Agile practitioner, a part of me is certain that implementing the request as is will not yield the needed results because the teams will not fully understand how these practises will help them. I have used my best knowledge, and tried to graciously mentor up, but what I lacked was a plan and how each bit is tied together, and that’s why your book is pure gold: it is one of those rare books that captures both the transformational journey as well as a practical step-by-step guide on the practises that enable it without the rings and bells of many books out there. It is all organised in a concrete and easy map-like plan that just makes sense. After reading this book, Agile practitioners will find they are armed with what it takes to confidently move mountains and learn in the process of doing so.

The beauty of it all is that Lowe doesn't use fancy, but almost overused now, words such as agile transformation, transformational leadership, change frameworks… instead, he speaks to every agile leader concisely and gives them the tools they actually need. After years of Agile becoming more and more philosophical, this book manages to democratise it all, and I think it will be books like this one that will address some of the reasons Agile implementations have actually failed to live up to their promises in many places." ~ Adrian S (Paris, France)
