This volume is dedicated to strengths and limitations of traditional theoretical approaches to fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) laminate design against failure; stress corrosion cracking behavior of materials; failure analysis and durability issues.

The strength of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) laminated structures is strongly dependent on the stacking sequence of the laminate, and consequently the fiber orientations of the individual laminae (also referred to as layers or plies). Chapters discusses the extent to which the traditional analysis of FRP
failure, using classical lamination theory (CLT) and interactive failure criteria is adequate in structures with discontinuities, and suggests extra analysis steps to be considered when designing against failure in the area of the discontinuity.
Book contents include information on: Stress analysis – strengths and limitations of traditional theoretical approaches to FRP laminate design against failure; stress corrosion cracking behavior of materials; failure analysis and durability issues.
