A wide range of age-group of learners can take-up the course. A passion to learn is the only requirement to take up this course ! The learners are instructed to follow the order of sequence of the Lectures for better assimilation of the concepts.
Description
"A drawing is worth more than a thousand words". Engineering drawing is the universal language of engineers, technicians, architects, product designers & developers. It finds applications even in the contemporary areas of graphics and animation development. Explosion of the computer applications is seen in all fields of studies. Engineering drawing is no exception. This course addresses and fills the lacuna of computer applications in engineering drawing. Manual drafting is now getting obsolete and getting replaced by the CAD software packages. This course work mentors the students in gaining the fundamental concepts of engineering drawing with the usage of 2D software AutoCAD and also a 3D geometric modeling software CATIA. Basics of AutoCAD and CATIA are touched upon. It is emphasized here that this is not an exhaustive course on either of the softwares of AutoCAD or CATIA. This course is intended to clarify the grey areas of engineering drawing like the orthography, isometry and the perspectives. In this process of clarification, the help of above listed software (AutoCAD and CATIA) is taken. A comparative study of the same component is done for teaching in the differences between the concepts of orthography, isometry and perspective. These are the areas which are assimilated by the students with difficulty. Spatial visualization of the different components with the help of CATIA is done for keeping the course plain and simple so that the imagination of the student is triggered. Therefore, this is an ideal course for all the beginners who are passionate about learning engineering drawing in this era of computer and information age. There are no barriers to the age-limit. Even a higher-secondary school going student with an inclination towards the scientific and technical drawing is encouraged to take up this course. Wish you a happy and fruitful learning !
