    This course is targeted towards graduates and post graduates in the field of biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, biotechnology, medical genetics and other professionals working in molecular biology areas. The course is a comprehensive course including mostly practical aspects in the molecular biology area. The course includes the requirements of setting up a molecular laboratory, the infrastructural requirements basic of unidirectional workflow and precautions that are required for avoiding contamination in molecular laboratory which is basic requirement for processing molecular testing. The course also includes good laboratory practices that are required to be followed in molecular laboratory. We have also included the different methods of nucleic acid extraction. The advantages and disadvantages in the us of different methods and materials in nucleic acid extraction. The series also included use of portable devices for nucleic acid extraction and challenges involved in portable devices use. We have also included the concept of quality control in molecular laboratory in the Pre PCR, PCR and Post PCR areas. The root cause analysis of failure of controls in molecular laboratory and their rectification. It also includes interpretation of PCR results with respect to the control results. The course also includes significance of different type of real time PCR curves and their interpretation along with 'Ct' value calculation.  The course content is designed by experience faculty and expert in the filed of molecular testoing
