Cmivfx - Photoshop Introduction

cmiVFX has released a brand new learning series on Photoshop, taught by Martin Knapp. Throughout each of the many lessons in Photoshop: Mastering The Fundamentals students are introduced to this powerful image editing program.
After becoming familiar with the Photoshop user interface, students will go on to to learn all about the various brushes, filters, effects, layers and many other powerful tools and features available within Photoshop. This series finishes things off by covering advanced image compositing techniques as students are taught step by step how to seamlessly blend several images together into a single stylized comp.

Where to download photoshop

This section will show you where you can download Photoshop. Adobe has an amazing program called the Creative Cloud which now makes it affordable for anyone to own the entire creative suite of Adobe tools.
Review of the user interface

This section will introduce you to the Photoshop user interface without diving too deep into elements you do not need right now. We want you to get familiar with the most common windows that you will use first.
Creating a new document

This section will show you how to create new Photoshop documents of various sizes and resolutions.
Navigating around a document

In this section you will learn how to navigate around a Photoshop document by zooming in and out of the canvas.
Working with brushes

This section will introduce you to brushes inside Photoshop. You will learn how to paint brush strokes on a blank document, how to undo those strokes, and how to change the color of your brush.
Brush options and settings

This section will show you the many different brush options that you have available to you in Photoshop which will adjust the look and feel of your brushes.
Paint bucket and marquee tools

In this section you will learn how to make selections with the marque tool, and how to fill those selections with color by using the paint bucket tool.
Working with gradients

This section will show you how to use the gradient tool in Photoshop. We will cover how to draw and adjust gradients.
Using the eye dropper tool

In this section you will learn how to use the eyedropper tool to select exact color values within your Photoshop document.
Using the blur brush

In this section we review how to use the blur brush. This will allow us to blur parts of our image by simply painting on it.
Working with dodge and burn

This section will show you how to use dodge and burn to lighten or darken parts of an image.
Working with the clone tool

In this section we review the Photoshop clone tool, which allows you to clone or copy one part of your image to another.
