    Description
In this course, you will learn the best practices in the application of process and continuous improvement methodologies with the objectives of driving sustained transformation and ensuring continuous incremental improvement in your processes. The course is divided into six (6) different sections - Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Product Traceability, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Development Best Practices, Kaizen Methodologies and Benchmarking.1. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a manufacturing performance metric that is used to identify the sources of losses in manufacturing and measure improvement efforts. In this section, you will learn the purpose of OEE and how it is calculated. You will learn the different OEE factors, methods of calculating OEE, world-class techniques for implementing and improving the OEE values etc.At the end of the course, you will be able to:Define Overall Equipment Effectiveness, or OEEState the purpose of OEEDefine availability, performance, and quality factorsDescribe how OEE is calculatedList the required data and describe how to implement OEEDescribe how to analyze OEEDefine each of the Six Big LossesDescribe the OEE improvement methodologies that can be applied to reduce each of the Six Big LossesCompare the IDA methodology with OEE2. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)This section covers the essential aspects of a TPM program. It includes programs like the eight pillars of TPM, and the implementation process of the TPM program. In this course, you‘ll learn the definition of TPM, relationship between and OEE, and benefits of implementing TPM.3. Product Traceability TechniquesThis section will enable you master the core skills required to track and trace every aspect of manufacturing and distributing a product, from “farm to fork”, allowing producers/manufacturers track and trace each component that comprises a product, from the suppliers, through the manufacturing process, supply chain and, eventually, to the final consumer. The section describes in details core techniques related to tracking and/or tracing products throughout the supply chain from manufacturing stage. At the end of this section, you would be able to describe the role, types and different methods of conducting traceability studies, establish and conduct effective traceability programs. You will learn critical considerations required for an effective traceability studies. You will be able to provide workable advice on how organizations can improve on their traceability programs.4. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) refers to written instructions that document how to perform a task. SOPs assists in maintaining consistency and quality of products or services. They can serve as tools for communicating key corporate policies, regulations of the government as well as any best practices. They are helpful in operations requiring strict adherence to a set of instructions to see to it that certain outcomes are attained. SOPs serve as a reference to employees who are required to follow a given set of procedures, helping all the employees to stick to the right or recommended procedure. SOP assists in training new employees. In this section of the course, you will learn all that are required and best practices in developing an effective standard operating procedures (SOP).5. Kaizen MethodologiesKaizen Approach is widely used by organizations with lean methodology to effect continuous improvement to organizational processes. In this section of the course, you will learn some basic kaizen principles, philosophy, action plans, and events that will enable you enact cultural change in your organizations through Kaizen principles.6. Benchmarkingyou will learn various systematic techniques for measuring and comparing processes, adopting and adapting organizational best practices to enhance continuous process improvement. At the end of this section, you will be able to describe the meaning, types and application of benchmarking techniques. You will gain thorough understanding of benchmarking sequences, methods and the benefits that you can gain from its implementation. The course consists of FREE downloadable templates, white papers and other resources that you can practice with to enhance your skills or customize for your personal and/or professional usage.
