Cato versus Caesar: And their Roads to Empire (Some Emperors of Rome Book 1) by Brian Igoe
    English | February 19, 2016 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B01C06GEZG | 223 pages | EPUB | 0.54 MB

This is a story of Ancient Rome and takes place in the half century before the birth of Christ. Our two protagonists are Cato and Julius Caesar, representing opposing philosophies dedicated to the recovery of Rome from the brink of collapse.

Both men were fighters. Cato, who believed absolutely in the laws and mores of the Rome of his fathers, fought in the Senate against Caesar and everything he stood for. He very nearly won.

Caesar was a soldier. He was arguably the greatest tactician ever and certainly of his times. He plucked many a victory from the jaws of defeat. Unlike Cato, he believed that Rome had become too corrupt and the Senate too venal to survive.

This book takes the form of alternating chapters written by each of the two protagonists, their supposed memoirs.
