    The Business Finance Module
    ● The module will equip the intermediate level administrator in the workplace with
    key skills relating to sound business practice.
    ● The module builds on the ibam Certificate module ‘Accounting for Business’.
    ● The module is designed to develop key skills and understanding of the financial
    aspects of running a business and how to use financial information as a
    management tool.
    ● The module provides a conceptual and analytical study of the provision of
    information, both for the decision requirements of external users of published
    financial statements and for internal management.
    ● The module focuses principally upon developing management accounting
    techniques, which does notmeanit will be primarily concerned with producing
    numbers although there will be some, but the emphasis will be on understanding
    howthe numbers are created and what theymeanto business. However, section two
    of the syllabus does focus on the preparation and content of company accounts.
    ● Throughout, the module content is aimed at making the subject more
    understandable and relevant to your job and career needs.

    On successful completion of this module, candidates will be able to:
    ● Identify alternative sources of finance available to businesses/organisations.
    ● Understand the need for a regulatory framework for financial reporting.
    ● Prepare financial statements using a basic regulatory framework.
    ● Understand the need for capital budgeting within organisations.
    ● Analyse and interpret the financial statements of a company or organisation
    using appropriate techniques, draw appropriate conclusions and suggest
    appropriate remedies.
