The book is very excellent. Overall content is good and gets you working on Mac programming right away. You concentrate on the important aspects of Mac programming. This should probably be the first book to read for a new Objective-C programmer. Objects first, code later (for the old style programmer, objects don't come easy). The benefit of this book is that you start programming in Cocoa first. Learn the particulars of Objective-C along the way (really need to learn Objective-C separately as well). Setting the program up initially is probably the most important part, and the author does this quite well. His writings were easy to follow. Just try a few other books on Objective-C or Cocoa or Mac programming and you will see the difference. I've now completed chapter 10 (four more chapters to go). The author keeps you with him and doesn't lose you. Like most books, you got to do the code in each chapter. Not difficult to follow. Really this book can be one of your first books on programming. You get a pretty good taste of Objective-C and Cocoa. Very good book.
