Description
The Power BI data analyst delivers actionable insights by leveraging available data and applying domain expertise. The Power BI data analyst collaborates with key stakeholders across verticals to identify business requirements, cleans and transforms the data, and then designs and builds data models by using Power BI. The Power BI data analyst provides meaningful business value through easy-to-comprehend data visualizations, enables others to perform self-service analytics, and deploys and configures solutions for consumption. Candidates for this exam should be proficient using Power Query and writing expressions by using DAX.Prepare the data - ( Get data from different data sources)Identify and connect to a data sourceChange data source settingsSelect a shared dataset or create a local datasetSelect a storage modeUse Microsoft DataverseChange the value in a parameterConnect to a data flowClean, transform, and load the dataProfile the dataResolve inconsistencies, unexpected or null values, and data quality issues Identify and create appropriate keys for joinsEvaluate and transform column data typesShape and transform tablesCombine queriesApply user-friendly naming conventions to columns and queriesConfigure data loadingResolve data import errorsModel the data - ( Design a data model )Define the tablesConfigure table and column propertiesDesign and implement role-playing dimensionsDefine a relationship's cardinality and cross-filter directionDesign a data model that uses a star schemaCreate a common date tableDevelop a data modelCreate calculated tablesCreate hierarchiesCreate calculated columnsImplement row-level security rolesUse the Q&A featureCreate model calculations by using DAXCreate basic measures by using DAXUse CALCULATE to manipulate filtersImplement Time Intelligence using DAXReplace implicit measures with explicit measuresUse basic statistical functionsCreate semi-additive measuresUse quick measuresOptimize model performanceRemove unnecessary rows and columnsIdentify poorly performing measures, relationships, and visualsReduce cardinality levels to improve performanceVisualize and analyze the data ( Create reports & Dashboards)Add visualization items to reportsChoose an appropriate visualization typeFormat and configure visualizationsUse a custom visualApply and customize a themeConfigure conditional formattingApply slicing and filteringConfigure the report pageUse the Analyze in Excel featureChoose when to use a paginated reportManage tiles on a dashboardConfigure mobile viewUse the Q&A featureAdd a Quick Insights result to a dashboardApply a dashboard themePin a live report page to a dashboardEnhance reports for usability and storytellingConfigure bookmarksCreate custom tooltipsEdit and configure interactions between visualsConfigure navigation for a reportApply sortingConfigure Sync SlicersGroup and layer visuals by using the selection paneDrilldown into data using interactive visualsExport report dataDesign reports for mobile devicesIdentify patterns and trendsUse the Analyze feature in Power BIIdentify outliersChoose between continuous and categorical axesUse groupings, binnings, and clusteringUse AI visualsUse the Forecast featureCreate reference lines by using the Analytics paneDeploy and maintain assets (Manage files, datasets and Manage workspaces)Identify when a gateway is requiredConfigure a dataset scheduled refreshConfigure row-level security group membershipProvide access to datasetsManage global options for filesCreate and configure a workspaceAssign workspace rolesConfigure and update a workspace appPublish, import, or update assets in a workspaceApply sensitivity labels to workspace contentConfigure subscriptions and data alertsPromote or certify Power BI content
