I had done what I could to serve the honorable traditions of the Wehrmacht while minimizing the under lying darkness of this war. While I had served honorably, I knew the war's final result would be the same for me…"

Major Rolf Krengel is a German officer serving in North Afrika… He is an officer and a gentleman, who shares his thoughts and views of the horrors of war in this, his personal journal.
