This book consists of a preamble, two parts and an appendix, preceded by a preface and a foreword.
The preliminary aims to prepare the reader to better situate the contribution of Maghrebian mathematicians and the original features of their contributions. It includes a brief overview of the mathematics ¬in Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, Greece, the Middle-East and al-Andalus, with 371 biographies for the latter region.
The first part is biobibliographical; in it 617 traditional Maghreb scholars are presented; they belong to the period ranging from the 8th century to the beginning of the 21st century.
The second part contains examples of themes that were studied in the Maghrebian mathematics. It consists of three chapters: A: Numbers and arithmetic (including: number concept, root extraction, combinatory analysis, figurative numbers); B: Algebra (including equations, polynomials theory, algebraic symbols of the Maghreb); C: Geometry and trigonometry.
The appendix contains bibliography, facsimiles of handwritten pages and end notes.
