I started this ‘Just be Good ‘ project with the idea of having a few Buddhist promotionaI materials with a bright, positive and modern style. I later tied this in with a website offering more information on Buddhism for those interested to find out more. Little did I expect how popular the materials would become, and the effect of the website on so many people all over the world. My aim is to present the basic concepts of Buddhism in a concise and down-to-earth manner, using an approach that many seem to find clear and accessible. The ‘Just Be Good’ project culminates in this booklet, based on the writings in the website. For those reading this booklet without yet visiting the website, I would urge you to also go through the site. This is because it offers a further wealth of information by way of free e-books, talks on MP3 and links to other websites which provide deeper perspectives on many key points and areas. I would like to thank with deepest gratitude Ajahn Brahm for giving me the courage and support to start this ‘Just be Good’ project, Ven. Dhammika for his patient guidance and advice throughout the project, Ven. Aggacitta and Ven. Kumaara for their many valuable suggestions and Sister Han Ah Yew and 6 Mr. Leong Kum Seng for their help in vetting the text. I would also like to express my most sincere appreciation to Bro. Piya Tan for writing the section on meditation for this booklet and Geelyn Lim for all her hard work on its design and layout. Special thanks also go to all my teachers and friends in the Dhamma in Singapore for their encouragement from the very beginning. A big “thank you” and all my love also go to my parents and my wife, Susan. And my greatest appreciation is extended to the people all over the world who have given me the motivation and the strength to continue and develop this project. All mistakes, errors and omissions are mine alone. May all Beings be well and happy, and free from physical and mental suffering. May all Beings embark on the Path of the Buddha and realize Nibbana. May all the merits of this project be dedicated to the happiness and emancipation of all Beings, and to help protect and spread the Teachings of the Buddha. T Y Lee
