Can we cure cancer? While most people and even many medical professionals and oncologists are obsessed with diets and other magic cancer cures, this book suggests reviewing solid scientific evidence related to causes of cancer. Hundreds of medical studies confirmed that, on a cell level, cancer has a simple and single cause: low oxygen level in body cells. When O2 delivery fails below the norm, malignant cells have advantages for survival and growth. Therefore, tissue hypoxia is the driving force of cancer, even though very few cancer books explain this key scientific finding.Since oxygen is provided to body cells due to breathing, we need to consider breathing parameters in people with cancer. Several studies measured minute ventilation, respiratory frequency and end-tidal CO2 in people with cancer. All these medical publications found that virtually each and every person with cancer:- breathed about 2 times more air per minute than the medical norm- had very low exhaled CO2 contect- had increased respiratory rate at rest. This condition is called chronic hyperventilation. It is especially severe in people with metastatic cancer. Therefore, the cause of low body oxygenation in people with cancer is their abnormal breathing; this factor has been discovered so far in each and every medical study. Even though there are millions of uneducated people who believe that deep breathing or breathing additional air is good for health and more O2 in body cells, medical science and physiology refuted this myth more than a century ago: breathing more air at rest reduces O2 concentrations in cells due to CO2 losses.Cell hypoxia in organs and cells immediately generates a cascade of abnormal effects. Lack of oxygen in tissues leads to anaerobic respiration in body cells. This elevates levels of lactic acid in blood, causes increased production of free radicals causing oxidative stress, promotes appearance of chronic inflammation and low pH (acidity) in cells, and leads to suppression of the immune system. While these effects are described in numerous research articles, there are virtually no cancer books that explain the sequence of events causing growth of tumors and metastasis.Breathing normalization (how to achieve normal automatic breathing) is a feature of only a few breathing techniques. The most advanced one is the Buteyko breathing method. This method has been used by more than 160 Soviet and Russian medical doctors on over 200,000 patients, many of whom had cancers. Furthermore, one of the pupils of Dr. Konstantin Buteyko, Dr Sergey Paschenko MD, organized a published clinical trial on about 120 people with metastatic cancer. While it is not a cancer cure yet, this was likely the most successful trial in the whole history of cancer research. Metastatic cancers are deadly. For early stages of metastasis, the typical 3- and 5-year survival rate is usually about 70-80%. In this study, the survival rate in the control group was about 75.5%. But 95.5% of people in the main group, which practiced breathing exercises in addition to standard medical therapies, survived. Therefore, this self-oxygenation technique reduced mortality almost 6 times! This trial clearly demonstrated the power of natural, self-oxygenation methods as well as dangerously low O2 and CO2 content in the participants of this trial before they applied the breathing technique. It can be concluded that cancer cannot exist in people with normal body O2 content.Soviet and Russian MDs tested hundreds of people with cancers and found that all of them had low results for the DIY body oxygen test. Apart from the Buteyko method, this book reviews other self-oxygenation techniques and breathing exercises that increase body oxygenation.
