Part Two of Ordo VI of the Amsterdam edition of Erasmi opera omnia presents his Greek text and his Latin translation of the Gospel according to St. John and the Acts of the Apostles. A critical edition of the Latin text is offered containing an introduction in English and a commentary including an identification of sources quoted, and, where relevant, any linguistic, philological, theological or historical background information necessary to understand the Latin text.
This volume contains the Gospel of John and the Acts of the Apostles from Erasmus' Greek and Latin New Testament, published in five major editions between 1516 and 1535. For a general introduction, the reader is referred to the first volume, ASD VI, 1. A summary of the main points can be given here.
