Since the beginning of time, human beings have tried to capture a sense of motion in their art. From the eight legged board in the Atta Mira caves of Northern spains to painting a long side the remains of long dead pharaohs, this quest for capturing motion has been a common theme throughout many of mankind's artistic endeavors. True animation cannot be achieved without first understanding a fundamental principle of the human eye: the persistence of vision. this was first demonstrated in 1828 by Frenchman paul Roget, who invented the thaumatrope. It was a disk strings or peg attached to both sides. One side of the risk showed a bird, the other an empty cage. when the disc is twirled, the bird appeared in the cage. This proves that eye retails images when it is exposed to a series of pictures, one at a time.
Entertainment has always been one of man’s best methods of relationship. As children, we heard about stories in the moonlight of imaginary characters, and over the years as man’s quest for more entertainments heightened, the thought of bringing threes characters to life become apparent.
Before the advent of the electronic computer some entertainment studios tried achieve this fact by developing different methods of animation, one of which was a technique referred to as “classic animation “this form of animation was used in cartoons. It required 24 distinct drawings for one second of animation. However, these methods of animation were often time consuming and expensive to produce, there was definitely a need for change in order to explore better and less time consuming ways for carrying out animation. This paved way for a new dimension of animation using computers.
This research was written with the aim of introducing 3D Modeling and computer animation that shows the evolvement of 2D revelation into that of 3D object graphics. It shows us the rotaschoping in which image are moved from videos into an animation. The research also shows us the different types of modelers and the use of animating model - how 2D shapes are been edited into 3D and the types of vertex or control point use. This research also tell us the types of rendering techniques in play.
