The SIXTH CONFERENCE ON AUTOMATED DEDUCTION, held on June 7-9, 1982, at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University, included the resentation of 23 papers selected by the program committee, a keynote address by Lawrence Wos, and an invited talk by John McCarthy (the latter not included in this volume).
