Essay Writing: University Foundation Study Course Book

An international foundation course for developing students' key academic study skills and transferring them to a broad range of academic disciplines. Teachers can choose to use all 12 modules or select individual modules according to students' specific needs.
Based on an online modular course used by universities in the UK and abroad, Transferable Academic Skills Kit (TASK) has been developed in collaboration with the University of Reading.

In 6 units, the module covers the essentials of essay writing. Unit 1 looks at some basic principles of writing academic essays. Unit 2 helps you get started by showing how to write a thesis statement. Unit 3 deals with the main part and helps with planning and writing effective paragraphs. Unit 4 deals with the conclusion. Unit 5 examines the language of essays. Unit 6 looks at redrafting and some other basic principles of academic writing to help students with their writing in the future.This unit also includes a sample essay to demonstrate the structure and presentation of ideas.
