Slack Key Guitar - The G Kilauea Tuning by Daniel Ho
    English | June 1, 2012 | ISBN: 1602740364 | 84 Pages | RAR / PDF&MP3 128 kbps | 104 MB

Six-time Grammy award-winner Daniel Ho shares the secrets of his G Kilauea slack key guitar tuning in this comprehensive study. Slack key is played on regular Guitars with certain strings slackened from standard tuning (EADGBE). Tunings were created to allow guitarists to play in different keys, accommodate vocal ranges, and facilitate distinctive musical phrases. Historically, slack key tunings were closely guarded family secrets.

Due to its recent surge in popularity, information about slack key tunings is now readily available. There are hundreds of slack key tunings, but what emerged as the most recognized is the G "Taro Patch" tuning (DGDGBD).
In search of a new musical voice that strikes a balance between tunings, musical styles and genres, Daniel Ho has developed after much experimentation, the G Kilauea tuning (DGCGBE) which addresses the need for versatility and functionality for solo instrumentals and vocal accompaniment. He shares the secrets of his G Kilauea tuning in this comprehensive study.

    Included in the book are:

    - Over 200 chords in the key of G
    - Scales, thirds and sixths in the key of G
    - Six principles to help you find your own tunings
    - Seven arrangement techniques for guitar
    - Tablature and notation for thirteen original compositions and arrangements of traditional Hawaiian songs

Daniel is pushing a different tuning than standard open "G" or "D", but he may be really on to something. His tuning gives you a bass note on the bottom for the main chords. In addition, he is a very talented arranger, and most of the songs are keepers. In addition, he gives you a great deal of basic information on how to work out your own arrangements.
Daniel Ho plays guitar in a very inspiring way, and in this book he shares his music in a great way. The music sounds great, but it takes a bit of time to master, absolutely worth the effort to learn these songs.
