Exploring the Practice of Statistics

Prof. David S Moore, Prof. George P McCabe, "Exploring the Practice of Statistics"
2012 | ISBN-10: 1464103186 | 336 pages | PDF | 25 MB

Statistics is the science of data. Exploring the Practice of Statistics (EPS) is an introductory text based on this principle. We present methods of basic statistics in away that emphasizesworkingwith data andmastering statistical reasoning. EPS is elementary inmathematical level, but conceptually rich in statistical ideas. After completing a course based on our text, students will be able to think objectively about conclusions drawn from data and to use
statistical methodsin their own work.
In EPS, we combine attention to basic statistical concepts with a comprehensive presentation of the elementary statistical methods that students will find useful in their work. The philosophy behind EPS is the same as that for Introduction to the Practice of Statistics (IPS), now in its seventh edition. The level is suitable for beginners and there is an overall emphasis on doing statistics rather than just talking about the subject. This hands-on approach makes our course more similar to oneondrawing or painting rather than art appreciation.
