One Night: Denied (The One Night Trilogy)

Jodi Ellen Malpas "One Night: Denied (The One Night Trilogy)"
    Forever | English | November 11, 2014 | ISBN: 1455559342 | 432 pages | azw, epub, lrf, mobi | 3,28 mb

This was a great second installment of Livy and Miller’s story. The minute I finished I immediately went to see when the final book would be released and then promptly pouted about how far away February seems. I completely fell for Miller in One Night: Promised, so I was very much looking forward to seeing where his relationship with Livy would go. Not only that, but I was also desperate to see how much more of his past and present would be revealed. As much as I love him, Miller hurt Livy so badly in the first book, and I was anxious to how and if she was going to be able to bounce back.

I am definitely a fan of Livy and Miller as a couple, so it drove me crazy watching everyone stick their noses into their relationship. While I understand that each of them cared about Livy in his or her own way, she is a smart and independent woman with a good head on her shoulders. Livy was fully capable of making the decision about her future with Miller on her own. At the same time, as the reader I felt a similar protectiveness over Livy. Her heartache at the beginning of the book was so palpable, and while I do love her with Miller, I didn’t want to see her be emotionally devastated by him once again.

More of Miller was revealed as the story progressed, and learning about him certainly helped me see where he was coming from. He has not had an easy life, which made me want to root for him and Livy even more. There were so many tender and loving moments with him that made me melt. Miller was also wildly and sometimes unreasonably possessive of Livy. I loved how Livy supported and stood up for him and truly wanted to help him overcome his fears and his past. Together I think they are very good for each other, but they certainly still have many obstacles to overcome. One Night: Denied was full of suspense, passion, and emotion. I can’t wait to see what the final book will bring!
