The book’s title is an e-mail address. With it, Haraway locates herself and her readers in a sprawling net of associations more far-flung than the Internet. The address is not a cozy home. One of the founders of the posthumanities, Donna J. Haraway is Distinguished Professor Emerita in the History of Consciousness Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz, USA. Author of many books and widely read essays, including the now-classic essay ‘The Cyborg Manifesto,’ she received the J.D. Bernal Prize in 2000, a lifetime achievement award from the Society for Social Studies of Science.
