FOREWORD:
The best investment you could ever make is to invest in yourself.
As an international speaker and ambassador myself, I can tell you that the importance of speaking with impact is undeniable. I’ve known Kevin for a number of years. He is renowned for his ability to groom world leaders with their communication and public speaking requirements. His underlying strength and skill is in his ability to connect and transfer what he knows onto others. I enjoyed reading this book since Kevin has always been good at making his public speaking teachings fun and on point. In one of his chapters, he talks about ‘painting the picture’, and from personal experience, I can tell you that this idea alone has made a huge difference to the speeches I give to my audiences from all around the world. The greatest individuals, professionals and leaders are often remembered because of their ability to speak with impact. Gone are the days where you could hide behind the desk. If you want to be taken seriously, get funding for a project, persuade your team members, lead with influence and speak to be heard, you need to polish your public speaking skills. In this day and age, you will find yourself either being expected to speak, or obligated to speak.
As Kevin mentions, you can’t escape public speaking. Kevin has taken a serious (and dreaded) subject, and delivered an easy to read (and implement) guide. Anyone can get better, deliver better and feel better- in 60 minutes. Such is Kevin’s command on the subject of public speaking that he was able to convey a significant matter, simply. That on its own speaks volume. When you read this book, you will know what I mean. If you are in need of a speedy guide to speaking better and are pressed for time, this book is for you. 60 minutes is all you’ll need to get better at public speaking. Note my words. This will be one of the best investments you could ever make in your lifetime.
