This fifth hook in the Classic Warbirds Series covers some of the Allies day and night fighters over N.W. Europe, from mid 1944 until the immediate postwar Allied occupation of Germany. We have endeavoured to include as much new material as possible and avoid repeating 'potted histories' already well recorded. For the fighter squadrons of the RAF's 2nd Tactical Air Force and the USAAF 8th and 9th Air Forces, this period was particularly intense.
