A remarkably prolific lynchpin of Tāmaki Makaurau's musical community, composer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Kaptein is a key member of such formidable local ensembles as The Circling Sun, Princess Chelsea's group the Dream Warriors, Bub, The Situations, Crystal Chen's band, power trio AIGHT, and no doubt more. Kaptein has spilled the beans about Pool Sharks, the inaugural long player release from his brand new imprint Jandal Records — purveyors of "interesting music from Aotearoa" — teased with the gentle cascading waves of lead single 'Sleepy Space Cadet', dipping listeners' ears in fractalesque ponds of new agey, high class jazz ambiance.
