Saxophonist/composer, born Sep. 28.th. 1965 in Copenhagen. Studies at Berklee College of Music from 1984-86, and studies/work in New York 1986-87. Studies/work in New York in 1995. Leader of the following groups: ”Pinocchio” (87), ”Hans Ulrik Fusion” (88-89), ”Ulrik/Hess Quartet” (89-90),”Wombat” (from 95), ”Hans Ulrik Jazz & Mambo” from 98-03. Currently: Hans Ulrik Quartet with Lars Jansson (S). Has recorded as a leader with: Gary Peaco ck, Mino Cinelu, Adam Nussbaum, Niels Lan Doky, Lars Jansson, Marilyn Mazur, John Scofield, Peter Erskine, Steve Swallow a.o.
