With a decades-spanning career as a musician, composer and hit record producer, the ‘Father of Disco’ Giorgio Moroder needs little introduction. His Munich-based Musicland studios are credited with birthing the Eurodisco sound of the 70s and 80s, and with influencing Techno, House and Electronica in the years since. Aided by state-of-the-art studio tech, Moroder was integral to crafting Donna Summer’s genre-de ning 1977 Hi-NRG hit ‘I Feel Love’, and later attracting artists such as Sparks (‘The Number One Song In Heaven’), Blondie (‘Call Me’) and Elton John & RuPaul (‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’). A slew of soundtracks (among them the Academy Award-winning Midnight Express, Flashdance and Top Gun), showcased Moroder’s skill as a  lm composer, while his solo albums Knights In White Satin (1976), From Here To Eternity (1977) and E=MC2 (1979), all released on his Oasis label, were warmly received in Europe and in Italy especially.
