American singer-songwriter Lamont Dozier's mid-70s release, "Black Bach", is his soulful interpretation of songs based upon baroque stylings. The groove is undeniable, and mixed with strings it brings the record to a new level never before demonstrated by Dozier.

Lamont Dozier is better known as part of the hit making songwriting and production team Holland-Dozier-Holland, responsible for dozens of classic Motown songs and several number one singles. Dozier, a recording artist with various groups prior to joining H-D-H, went back to his recording career after leaving the songwriting team in the 1970s. A classic 70s soul record, "Out Here On My Own" was released by Lamont Dozier in 1973. As the titles implies is his first post-H-D-H release and includes his biggest solo hit "Trying To Hold On To My Woman". Dozier is a master songwriter and performer, and this album is not to be missed.
