Naim Label has once again achieved the significant coup of recording with one of the world's best known and most respected double bassists in the world, Charlie Haden. Continuing our tradition of pairing this legend of free-jazz double-bass with whoever he wishes to play with, the great British jazz pianist John Taylor was this time top of Charlie's list.

This album is truly a meeting of three jazz giants: gifted pianist, composer and arranger, Laurence Hobgood, colossus of the double bass, Charlie Haden and Grammy Award winning vocalist, Kurt Elling. Described by Dave Brubeck as "one of the most incredible pianists I have ever heard", Hobgood has, apart from his solo work, been directing Kurt Elling's Blue Note (and now Concord) recordings for fifteen year.

One of the best recordings for Keith Jarrett's mid-'70s American quartet (whose style differed sharply from its European doppelgänger), "Survivor's Suite" opens with Jarrett's aching, breathy sigh on the bass recorder, evoking the sound of a horn somewhere across a great expanse of fog.

"The Elements" is a Joe Henderson classic, part of a decade of spirituality and psych-jazz experimentation that saw the eminent saxophone player break free from post-bop instrumentation and repertoire. Playing through Fire, Air, Water and Earth, Henderson leads his all-star ensemble - which included Alice Coltrane, Charlie Haden and Leon "Ndugu" Chancler - in an open-ended setting of heat and mercurial invention.

Keith Jarrett and Charlie Haden broaden the scope of their duo project to showcase jazz classics like Thelonious Monk’s “Round Midnight” and Bud Powell’s spritely “Dance Of The Infidels”. Love songs, however, are to the fore in this selection, with tender versions of “My Old Flame”, “My Ship”, “It Might As Well Be Spring”, “Everything Happens To Me”, and “Every Time We Say Goodbye” as well as alternate takes of “Where Can I Go Without You” and “Goodbye”, every bit as touching as the Jasmine renditions. “When we play together it’s like two people singing”, said Jarrett of his reunion with Haden. The intentions of the song are honored, the shades of meaning in a melody or a lyric explored instrumentally. As Charlie Haden put it, “Keith really listens, and I listen. That’s the secret. It’s about listening”.

In 1979 Art Pepper was recorded at two sessions that yielded two fine albums, So In Love and the New York Album. There was more first-rate material recorded in those two sessions than would fit on two LPs so difficult choices had to be made as to what material not to include on the albums released at the time. Those choices were not necessarily made on the basis of the quality of the performances but with respect to such considerations as length and congruence of repertoire within an album.

"Jasmine" is a 2010 duet album by American pianist Keith Jarrett and bassist Charlie Haden. The album was recorded in 2007 at Jarrett's home studio in Oxford Township, New Jersey during the recording of a documentary about Haden.

"Come Sunday" marks the final collaboration between two of jazz’s most legendary players, bassist Charlie Haden and pianist Hank Jones. The album was released on the same day that Charlie Haden was inducted into the National Endowment for the Arts as an NEA Jazz Master. Come Sunday is the follow-up to the duo's classic Steal Away and is the final studio recording by Hank Jones before he passed away. The duo performs with soulful inventiveness while maintaining the songs’ emotional essence on this album of familiar gospel and Americana tunes from their childhood. Included is a swinging rendition of “Give Me That Old Time Religion,” a breathtaking cover of Ellington’s “Come Sunday” and countless others. So In Love is an album by saxophonist Art Pepper recorded in 1979 and originally released on the Artists House label. The AllMusic review by Scott Yanow noted: "Pepper is in excellent form throughout the album, giving these songs heart-wrenching interpretations".

The legendary Keith Jarrett Trio, playing live at NDR Funkhaus, Hamburg. The trio with Haden and Motian formed in 1966 was Jarrett’s first great band, his choice of players a masterstroke. With the bassist who had learned his craft in Ornette Coleman’s band, and the drummer from Bill Evans’s ground-breaking trio, Jarrett was able to explore the full scope of modern jazz, from poetic balladry to hard-swinging time-playing to ferocious and fiery free music, the improvisation including episodes with Keith on soprano sax. The interaction between the three musicians is uncanny throughout, reaching a peak in an emotion-drenched performance of Charlie Haden’s “Song for Che”. ECM set up the 1972 tour of the Jarrett Trio, including the German radio concert from which this album is drawn. Manfred Eicher returned to the original tapes, remixing the music for this edition in Oslo in July 2014, together with Jan Erik Kongshaug.

"Mysteries" was recorded in 1975 and originally released in 1976 and features performances by Keith Jarrett's 'American Quartet'. It was produced by Esmond Edwards and recorded at Generation Sound Studios in New York City.

"Shades" is the fifth album on the Impulse label by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett. Originally released in 1976 it features performances by Jarrett's 'American Quartet' which included Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden and Paul Motian with Guilherme Franco added on percussion.

In the 80s Paul Motian asked Stefan Winter and Hiroshi Itsuno, whether they would be interested in producing with him new interpretations of well–known and less known pieces from musicals. This was the beginning of the "Paul Motian On Broadway" recordings, a series of albums, which is considered an important milestone of unique interpretations of famous jazz standards. Stefan Winter, who recorded with Paul Motian over 25 albums, selected for "Standards plus One" seven works, which have been of special significance for Motion in his life.

Recorded live at the Village Vanguard on February 24, 1973, "Fort Yawuh" is one of Jarrett's early acoustic albums. The playing is intimate and wild, with the leader's '60s-era, Ornette-inspired group injecting some funk, extra melody and extended vamps into all-Jarrett material.
