Jazz-Funk | Label: We are Bushbabies, Official Digital Download

Bushbabies, consisting of Niclas Knudsen (Guitar: Ibrahim Electric, Kalaha), Jonathan Bremer (Bass: Bremer/McCoy, Tabloid) and Felix Ewert (Drums: Alex Vargas, Tabloid), mix elements from afrobeat, cumbia, jazz and highlife with melodies that draw threads from the musicians' Nordic background.

Their debut album received 5 stars from GAFFA, and the trio has previously played a sold-out concert at Hotel Cecil during Vinterjazz and Copenhagen Jazz Festival. On November 9th, they will return with their new album “Huma Bird” in tow.

With their new album, Bushbabies travel across continents and are inspired by Persian funk, Brazilian folklore, African cowbells and Tibetan mountains in their search for the lucky bird Huma bird, about which legend says that whoever sees the bird or is struck by its shadow will feel like a king and whoever hears the bird's song will be eternally happy.

The music as a whole is down-to-earth, rigorous and resilient, insistent and inviting. With playful lightness and deadly seriousness, the band creates rhythms and sounds that are both grounded and clear, but also energetic and danceable.
