Xavier de Maistre is one of the leading harpists of the present day and a deeply innovative musician. As a passionate advocate of his instrument, he has expanded the harp repertoire and commissioned new works from composers. He also creates transcriptions of important instrumental works.

He will open the 2024/25 season as the Artist-in-residence of the Basel Symphony Orchestra with two concerts under the direction of Ivor Bolton. Other highlights of the season include performances with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and Tan Dun, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo conducted by Nathalie Stutzmann, the Korean National Symphony and David Reiland, and the China National Symphony Orchestra.
