U2 (pronounced "Yu Tu") is a rock band from Dublin, Ireland. U2 was formed in 1976, one of the most popular, successful and influential bands in the world ever. The band owes its appearance to Larry Mullen, who posted a note on the school bulletin board about finding members for a rock band. Bono (vocals and guitar), Edge (guitar, keys and vocals) and Adam Clayton (bass guitar) responded to the announcement. Since then, the composition of the band has remained unchanged.
