Trio Sr9 - Venus Rising (2024) [Official Digital Download 24/96]

On "Venus Rising", the trio SR9 and singer Kyrie Kristmanson bring works by female composers from different centuries - from Hildegard von Bingen to Kate Bush - to new life with their arrangements. The marimba ensemble with the unusual name, which refers solely to the number of its members (SR9 stands for Square Root 9 in English, the square root of nine, i.e. three), has strengthened itself for this recording with additional instruments such as prepared piano, vibraphone and percussion. Four of the singer's own compositions enter into a dialog with Barbara Strozzi's "Che si può fare", Lili Boulanger's "Pie Jesu" and many more.
