The Russian pianist Sofiya Kagan was born in Moscow in 1982. She completed her education with Prof. Ksenia Knorre at the State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with distinction in 2008.
Sofiya Kagan has been living in Germany since 2009. Parallel to her studies with Prof. Vasily Lobanov at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne, she completed postgraduate master classes with Elisso Virsaladze in Fiesole/Italy at the Scuola di Musica for two years. She then studied with Prof. Evgeniy Sinaisky in Essen at the Folkwang University of the Arts. There she also completed the master's degree program "Duo for Pianists" with top marks.
Master classes with world-famous pianists such as Oxana Yablonskaya, Lars Vogt, Elisso Wirsaladze, Menahem Pressler, Konstantin Bogino have completed her training as a soloist and chamber musician. Numerous prizes at international music competitions as well as a lively concert activity in Russia, Finland, Italy, France, Spain, Holland and Germany round off her artistic profile.
In addition to her employment at the La Musica Music School, Sofiya Kagan is currently working as a lecturer at the Detmold University of Music and as a pianist in Natalia Gutman's class at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.
