The Italian-German mezzo-soprano Sofia Pavone is distinguished by her unmistakable timbre, a wide vocal range and an expressive, musically well-thought-out design. She studied with Hedwig Fassbender (concert exam) and received special impulses through regular work with Helmut Deutsch, Jürgen Glauss and Marcus Creed. Furthermore, she is supervised vocally by Sami Kustaloglu, master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Ramón Vargas, Axel Bauni and Magreet Honig round off her training. She is a scholarship holder of the Frankfurt Bach Concerts and the Richard Wagner Association Cologne. in 2018, the mezzo-soprano in Corsica was awarded the 1st prize at the Concours International de Chant Lyrique de Canari, in 2020 at the 27th International Johannes Brahms Competition/Pörtschach with the 2nd prize in the song category.

The art song and new program developments within this genre are particularly close to her heart, in this she combines a long-standing collaboration with the pianists Hedayet Jonas Djeddikar and Katsuhisa Mori. In November 2023, her debut album, a song program entitled da, was released.in between at Ars production. With a wide-ranging concert repertoire from the Renaissance to contemporary music, Sofia Pavone has already been heard at the Tonhalle Zurich, the Casino Basel, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Palacio Euskalduna Bilbao and the Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, among others. Musically and artistically, she benefited in a special way from the collaboration with the conductors Erik Nielsen, Andrea Marcon, Jonathan Stockhammer, Florian Ludwig and Francesco Lanzillotta, the directors Simon Stone, Sebastian Nübling, Hans Walter Richter, Walter Sutcliffe, Maria Kwaschik and Jan Langenheim, the choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and the composer and pianist Kit Armstrong.
