"Diamonds And Pearls" is Prince's thirteenth studio album - and it was also the first with his new backing band The New Power Generation. How much the chemistry between the musicians was right can be seen not only in the glowing reviews but also in the numbers: Six massive international singles spawned the 1991 album - including the hits "Gett Off," "Cream" and the iconic title track - and was a worldwide chart success, including #3 and double platinum in the U.S., #8 and platinum in Germany, and #2 and triple platinum in the U.K., where "Diamonds And Pearls" remains Prince's best-selling album to this day.
Now Paisley Park Enterprises, in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Records, will reissue "Diamonds And Pearls" in physical, digital and streaming formats. The classic album will be heard for the first time in remastered quality and will feature no less than 47 previously unreleased tracks as well as over 2 hours of unreleased concert performances from Prince's legendary archive.
