    Federico Moreno Torroba bereicherte substantiell das Repertoire für die spanische Gitarre, angeregt u.a. durch Andrés Segovia. Hier sind vier seiner Werke für Gitarre und Orchester versammelt, das Concerto en Flamenco erscheint als Ersteinspielung. Diese Musik ist bei Pepe Romero, einer Kultfigur der spanischen Gitarre, und seinem Schüler Vicente Coves natürlich in besten Händen. Die beiden wissen einfach instinktiv, wie man das folkloristische Flair herausstellt, man fühlt sich einfach wie zu Hause in Spanien. Die CD ist die erste Folge einer Gesamtaufnahme von Torrobas Werken für Gitarre und Orchester bei Naxos und wohl ein „Muss“ für Fans spanischer Gitarrenmusik.
