    Memphis Slim, one of the greatest blues pianists of all time, performed in London and Paris between '60 and '61.Disc 1 recorded 1960-7 at the City of London Recording Studio with 18 songs backed by Alexis Corner of guitar and Stan Greig of drums, and disc 2 recorded 1961-7 at a studio in Paris with almost 14 solo piano sessions. This is the first time I've seen this video.Since then, you can enjoy powerful and brilliant vocals & piano by Slim who chose permanent residence in Paris 2-disc set.

    Memphis Slim is a 1915 blues pianist from Memphis, Tennessee.He started working in the '30s and moved to Chicago in '39, where he teamed up with Big Bill Brunsy.For the first time in 40 years, Bluebird recorded "Beer Drinking Woman".After that, he recorded several singles and worked as a backup for various artists.In the late '40s, he led the House Rockers and released "Messin' Around" from Miracle and made hits.In '49, he released "Nobody Loves Me," later known as "Every Day I Have a Blues."In the '50s, he was constantly released by chess and United.He signed with V. Jay in '58, released his first album, "At The Gate Of Horn" in '59, and also released "Willie's Blues" with Willie Dixon.In the 60s, he toured frequently in Europe, such as the American Folk Festival, and finally settled in Paris from '62.He left many albums with European musicians and appeared in many TV and movies.He died in Paris in 88.
