    Louis Lane was the much-admired associate conductor of the legendary George Szell at the Cleveland Orchestra and took care of somewhat more remote repertoire and newer works. Louis Lane's complete recordings with the Cleveland Orchestra from 1959 to 1970 for Epic and Columbia are real rarities and are now available for the first time on 14 CDs. They include incredibly sensitive and clearly pointed recordings of works by Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, William Walton, Virgil Thomson, Jean Françaix, Arthur Honegger, but also Mozart, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky - all played by the fabulous Cleveland Orchestra, which also appears here as The Cleveland Pops Orchestra and The Cleveland Sinfonietta.
